Richard Feren recently composed an extensive music score for Toronto playwright/actor/filmmaker Hrant Alianak's feature film A Trip To The Island. Written by Hrant, the film was shot entirely on Toronto Island, starring Nick Mancuso, Valerie Buhagiar, Alex Poch-Goldin, Karyn Dwyer, Colombe Demers, Jonathan Watton and Hrant. It's screening at the Muskoka Independent Film Festival on August 30, and will also play at the Raindance film fest and the Kansas International Film Festival. Here's a sample cue called "Gun", one of many intensely suspenseful musical motifs in the film.
